According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, Isah returned to the command headquarters after taking part in the walkathon before he suddenly collapsed.
He was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention, but medical personnel later confirmed his death.
The Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State, Hayatu Shaffa, described the officer’s death as a major loss to the command and extended his condolences to Isah’s family, colleagues and friends.
“The Sokoto State Police Command is deeply saddened by the sudden and painful loss of our colleague, Inspector Adamu Isah,” Shaffa said.
The commissioner said Isah served the Nigeria Police Force with commitment and professionalism and was actively involved in sporting activities within the command.
According to Shaffa, the deceased was a member of the command’s volleyball team and also participated in boxing. He described Isah as disciplined, energetic and a strong team player whose contributions would be greatly missed by his colleagues.
